This year’s summer reading theme is Level Up at Your Library! Summer reading 2025 runs from Saturday, June 14 through Friday, July 25.

Preregistration for the program begins Monday, June 9 at bplwv.beanstack.org or on the Beanstack Tracker mobile app. You will be able to start earning badges on Saturday, June 14. 

Anyone can participate in summer reading. We have a packed schedule for all ages--from babies to adults--and an array of prizes to match!

  • You do not need to be a resident of Bridgeport to participate in any Bridgeport Public Library event.
  • You also do not need a library card to participate—but it is highly encouraged!
    • (The library loans books, graphic novels, audiobooks, video games, board games, and more with just a library card!)
  • All library programs are free of charge.

You will be asked to choose between two teams--Team Fire & Team Ice! We have set a lofty community reading goal of 1 million minutes and will be tracking each team's progress throughout summer reading. We will decorate parts of the library in the theme of the winning team throughout August, and the top readers of each team will win a special prize at the end of the program.

Log your reading minutes, write book reviews, attend library programs, add friends on Beanstack, and more to earn badges. Each badge equals 1 or more ticket(s) you can put toward your prize of choice. 

  • Prize winners will be drawn and announced in the morning of Monday, July 28th.
    • Please be sure to put your tickets towards the prize(s) you want in Beanstack by 5 PM on Saturday, July 26th.
  • Winners will be notified by email and phone.
  • Patrons can only win once.
  • Prizes will be available for pick-up on Monday, July 28th at the library front desk.
  • Winners will have until August 9th to pick up their prizes.
All of the Bridgeport Public Library's reading challenges are hosted on Beanstack. You can access Beanstack through the website or the Beanstack Tracker app from your app store.
